Hotel Paras Mahal stands out in all of Udaipur's hotels because the decor, for once, is not Rajasthani. There are no hand painted walls here, no mirror inlay work, not even any colourful tapestry. But the hotel is plush, clean, calm; it smells nice, cuts out the noise and pollution of outside the moment you step in and has polished floors and courteous service. The decor is contemporary, with only two Rajasthani puppets at the reception reminding you that you are in Udaipur. The hotel lobby is spacious with comfortable couches. Rooms The interiors of Hotel Paras Mahal are spacious and modern with glass elevators. Creepers through the corridors around a central covered courtyard around which the 60 rooms are set. The rooms are not divided into any categories. All are air conditioned with amenities such as intercom, television, tea/coffee maker, mini bar (chargeable), study table and cupboard. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully furnished. Most rooms have a window seat which overlooks the beautifully maintained gardens bursting with flowers. The washrooms are clean, fitted with bath tubs and a 24-hour supply of hot and cold running water. Other amenities include soap, shower cap, bubble bath, moisturiser and shampoo. In contrast to the discreet luxury of the Lounge, the bar of Hotel Paras Mahal has yellow walls and cream and maroon couches. Bar stools are lined in one corner and low lamps hang on the tables. A quaint gramophone rests in a corner too. Another bar called 'Celebrations' lies on the outside, with a separate entrance. The hotel encourages non-guests to come to this bar to avoid any inconvenience for the guests staying at the hotel. Facilities The hotel's swimming pool is shaped like a peanut and lovely, surrounded by greenery, white deck chairs lying about, and a greenhouse in the far corner. Hotel Paras Mahal also has excellent conference facilities in the form of two conference halls - Saraswati Sabhagar I and II. Both can accommodate 100 - 150 people in theatre style arrangement. All equipment such as LCD screen, projector and so on is available an extra charge. Done in blue and white, the conference halls are spic and span and have an outside entrance to avoid any inconvenience for the guests inside the hotel. Other facilities offered include laundry service, travel desk, currency exchange, a shopping arcade, postal service. Hotel Paras Mahal accepts Visa and MasterCard. Location The hotel is located near Paras Cinema in Hiran Magri. The airport is 30 km away, Railway station 4 km away and the bus stand lies at a distance of 2.5 km.
The guests can avail 24-hour room service. Dining Deepawali Restaurant is done in pretty shades of blue and white and serves multi cuisine fare. It can accommodate 60 people and looks over to the lawns. There is another restaurant which is reserved only for large groups. Hotel Paras Mahal also has a Lounge with a high ceiling from which suspend crystal chandelier. The Lounge is classy, done in beige and grey, laid out with couches and glass topped tables. It looks over to the hotel's inviting swimming pool and serves food as well as drinks. To the left of the lounge lies Swati, the coffee shop. Simply furnished, snacks are served here. To the right of the Lounge lies the colourful bar called Urvashi.
